I came to the world of art later than many. One day I went for a walk in the woods with a digital camera I had bought second hand from a client in Hong Kong. Though I didn't know it at the time, that walk was to change my life. Why? Because that was when I first began to open my eyes. I began to go out with my camera for more walks and over the next year or two I took thousands of pictures. Some weren't bad.
Then one day I took another step and began to paint. It was scary. I had never painted before, not even at high school. At first I painted from my photographs, then I began to paint from imagination.
So now I paint and I take photographs. Occassionaly I still link between the two disciplines but in the main I approach them seperately. I try to use the camera to find interesting ways of viewing the external world around me. I use the paintbrush more to explore an internal world.
Inspiration and ideas can come from anywhere for me but I do find that as time goes by I look more and more closely at nature and especially water.
Thanks for taking your time to read this and I hope that you see something you like.
