Biography:
I am an internationally selling artist based in the North West of England.
Studied art at Chester College. In previous lives I have been - a Dancer, Craft worker, Teacher and Mother.
All these things have helped to shape Jan, the Artist.
Artist Statement.
I work with layers.
Sometimes they mean something, sometimes they don't.
I tell myself that the layers represent the complexities of life..... the structure of the earth ......
the chaos in my head. But really it's how the paint happens.
The paint and it's application is all important. I apply paint quickly and then start exploring......
printing, scraping. doodling. Sometimes I work with the subject, othertimes against it.
I love paint - exploring it's possibilities - and that's the sum of it.
