Biography:
I scroll between making prints and paintings, sometimes mixing the two. I achieve the former at Hot Bed Press Printmaking Studio in Salford and the Regional Print Centre in Wrexham, being a member of both. I also have had a studio in Vernon Mill, Stockport for some years, which provides a dedicated space and an encouraging atmosphere to work in. I aim to be in my studio during part of most weekends and welcome visitors to look at and discuss my work.
I am always trying to develop a more focussed practice which would address a particular subject or theme, but find this difficult because I am pulled in so many different directions such as landscape, portraits, life drawing/painting, the urban environment, figures etc, etc.
Influences are similarly many and various and include - at present! - David Tress, Frank Auerbach and the late Joan Mitchell (all wild painters!), Paula Rego and
for their prints, and the late Joash Woodrow (portraits & urban scenes). A lot of contemporary work appeals as well
I hope you like the work I've selected for this webpage - feedback would be very welcome!
