Biography:
Amang Kamil was born in 1970 in Kurdistan. He finished his art study in Kurdistan, completed the Art and Design course at Stockport College and recently gained the city and guild’s national diploma in Media and film Making.
He has joined the Kurdish artists union (KAU) in 1991, he is the chairman of Kurdistan Art and culture in Manchester and he is now a member of the community art North West (CAN) in Manchester.
He has participated in several group and private exhibitions in Kurdistan, Europe, Canada and UK.
As he has come from a war torn country, his art reflects the suffering of the Kurdish people who have faced death and killing every day of their lives.
“When I was a child I couldn't understand the life's wars… I am growing in age and asking what for are we fighting?
I'm dying and don't know in what war I will be killed…"
